Professional Beauty has launched its first ever podcast – The Pro Beauty Pod to bring you insight and opinion on all of the hottest trends and biggest stories in beauty, spa, nails and aesthetics.
With this podcast, the Pro Beauty editorial team - Eve, Kezia, Ellen and Lollie - will bring you insights, insider tips, secrets and success stories from beauty leaders and entrepreneurs spanning the whole industry as well as the up-and-comers innovating and steering us towards the future.
The team will also provide education and discussion around some of the challenges facing our industry as well as being a platform for building community. This is also a great place to keep up to date with all Professional Beauty Group events.
In our first episode, head of editorial Eve Oxberry sits down with Elaine Beattie, beauty industry veteran and award-winning salon owner, to get some insights and top tips on staff retention - one of the biggest challenges faced by salon owners today.
Eve and Elaine cover keeping staff motivated with regular training and career development opportunities, as well as a focus on work-life balance and mental wellbeing.
They also chat about the importance of involving your salon or spa team in business decisions - sharing where the money is spent, celebrating the successes and explaining how lost revenue effects the business as a whole.
We also got some fascinating insights into her time spent working on cruise ships and how she set up her first salon.
