Pure Spa group launches training academy

Scottish spa group PURE Spa & Beauty has opened a training academy accredited by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA).

The academy, located at the group's Lothian Road salon in Edinburgh, will run three-day courses offering a blend of theory and practical work and covering manicures, pedicures and spray tans.

Lyn McCartney, group training manager at Pure Spa & Beauty, said, “Candidates need to learn the relevant anatomy and physiology, health and safety, consultation procedures, and aftercare, as well as practical application. This means that the candidates will be fully knowledgeable and confident when completing this course.”

Recognised as Employer of the Year 2015 at the Professional Beauty Awards, Pure Spa & Beauty will offer training and development to aspiring therapists using leading British brands Elemis and Leighton Denny.

McCartney added, “With our rapid expansion plans we hope that the academy will tie into our recruitment strategy, training the therapists of tomorrow and being able to provide them with employment opportunities at the end of their course. This will also run hand in hand with our intensive new starter training and continuing to develop our existing staff too.”

Upon completion of the course, therapists will be given a Pure Spa & Beauty certificate.
