Six Senses to open in Costa Rica and Iceland

Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas is to add two properties to its portfolio over the next two years.

The luxury hotel, resort and spa brand has announced Costa Rica and Iceland as its latest upcoming destinations.

Located on the 2,300-acre Papagayo Peninsula, the Costa Rican site is being billed as an eco-conscious destination slated to open in 2021.

It will feature 41 secluded pool villas and a spa and fitness centre with in-depth wellness programmes. Locally made products will be used in signature spa treatments.

Meanwhile, opening in 2022, Six Senses Össurá Valley in Iceland will encompass a yoga studio within its spa, with a host of nature-based activities for guests to take part in as part of the wellness programmes.

Like Six Senses Papagayo, Össurá Valley will also take environmental considerations into account with build and operation; the development will use renewable and locally sourced materials and adhere to energy and water efficiency standards. An onsite Earth Lab will showcase the project’s sustainability efforts.
