Six Senses announces first resort in Israel
Six Senses has announced the launch of its first resort in Israel, scheduled to open in November 2018.
Six Senses Shaharut, a 58-suite and villa resort, will be built into a cliff in the Negev Desert and will also comprise a three-bedroom retreat.
Features at the resort will include a Six Senses Spa, with facilities ranging from an 18-metre indoor pool, 25-metre outdoor lap pool and yoga studio with desert views, to a gym and nail bar.
The spa will offer a varied treatment menu that will include facials, body treatments, restorative treatments and signature massages.
The Six Senses’ integrated wellness programme, fusing preventative principles from Eastern tradition with the results-driven focus of Western medicine, will be key to the spa concept.
The integrated wellness programme will see in-house experts offer guests’ lifestyle and nutritional advice, among other services, based on the measuring of key biomarkers.
Six Senses chief executive Neil Jacobs said: “We are very excited to announce this magical Six Senses project in the desert of Israel.”
Six Senses Shaharut has been designed to blend into the desert landscape with local materials such as rocks and pigments used in the construction.
In addition to the spa, resort amenities will include an all-day restaurant, a poolside bar and a juice bar.
There will also an open-air amphitheatre, a tented Bedouin camping experience, camel stables and a desert activity centre highlighting Six Senses’ sustainability initiatives.
Activities on offer will range from mountain climbing, mountain biking, off-road driving and camel safaris to craft workshops, wine tours and bird watching.
