Smooth You to open three more salons by 2016
London-based salon group Smooth You is set to open its third salon in the City, with further plans to open two more in Kings Cross and West London by 2016.
Salon design company Melvyn Allen is currently scouting locations in the City for the chain owned by husband-and-wife team Patrick and Luma Mitchell, who originally set up Smooth You in 2011.
Katie Shemesh, managing director for Smooth You group, expects the City location to be up and running within the next 12 to 18 months. She explained, “We will have everything under one roof, from beauty to hair, tanning and waxing, as well as our first wet-spa offer including sauna and steam in the basement.”
She added, “The City location will be different and edgy, but have the same branding and design as our Dalston salon.”
The group’s second site in Dalston was a £1.5m build and opened in the autumn of 2013 following the success of its first in Islington (pictured). Shemesh said the Dalston site broke even in its third month of trading.
She added, “Melvynn Allen are clever when finding locations as they look for potential. Dalston had 1,500 prospective new clients from the off set as it is next to a new residential build. Likewise, we’ve chosen Kings Cross because Google is set to open new offices there in 2016.
