Spa leadership course returns

The Positive Leadership in Spas and Hospitality course returns to the University of California, Irvine, this January. Held as part of the UC Irvine Extension Spa and Hospitality Management Certificate programme, the course runs January 21-March 3.

Jeremy McCarthy, director of global spa development and operations for Starwood Hotels and Resorts is the director of the course, which originally launched in January 2012. With a long career in the spa and hospitality business, including 14 years with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, McCarthy brings more than 20 years industry experience to the post.

The course, which will be offered again in June this year, focuses on excellence in spa leadership, covering areas such as how to engage and motive a team, developing a positive workplace culture and strategies for achieving your spa business goals.
