The Coniston Spa opens

The spa at The Coniston Hotel & Country Estate in Yorkshire in the UK has opened.

The spa features eight treatment rooms, a 15-metre pool, a thermal suite with a sauna, steam room and salt inhalation room, and a relaxation area, among other facilities.

Other features at the spa, which will be open both to guests at the 71-bedroom hotel, day spa guests and members, include an outdoor pool, a terrace, a gym and a dance and fitness studio.

Treatments on the spa menu range from massages, scrubs and wraps and facials, to tanning, waxing and manicure and pedicure services. Product houses at the spa, which opened earlier this month and already has more than 300 members, include Aromatherapy Associates, Jessica and Kissed by Mii.

The spa also includes the Nourish restaurant, serving healthy cuisine. The Nourish menu, created in collaboration with naturopath and cookery book author Elizabeth Peyton-Jones, is centred around “healthy food for healthy living”.

Sam Wilson, whose background includes spa director roles with the Ritz-Carlton group and a spa manager positions with Steiner Leisure, has been appointed spa general manager.
