Pins for vegan make-up and skincare increase by 50% on Pinterest
As more consumers search for cosmetics free from animal byproducts, it’s no wonder that there’s been a boom in “vegan beauty” pins on Pinterest in the past year.
Over the past 12 months, the social media platform has seen a 50% increase in vegan make-up saved pins as customers become more conscious of what’s in the products they purchase.
In the last six months, there has also been a 50% increase in vegan face masks saved pins and 75% in vegan hair products pins, the data found, showing that customers are becoming much more mindful about what they use.
Every month, 200 million people look for cosmetic choices on Pinterest and save them with a tap, known as a pin. In the UK, the platform’s monthly active users have grown by nearly 30% in a year and 4.5 million ideas are pinned every day.
Pinterest recently predicted that cleansing oils, lip tints and shade-inclusive foundation lines will be some of the biggest beauty product trends for 2018.
Meanwhile, just under half of Pinterest users will make a beauty purchase after seeing a pin.
