Video: Introducing 5 brand new categories for the Professional Beauty Awards 2022

As we all gear up for Christmas and New Year, don't forget about the best way to make your business stand out next year: entering the Professional Beauty Awards 2022.

The awards opened for entries in early december and next year the event is going to be completely different.

For many years now, we have run the Professional Beauty Awards alongside the World Spa & Wellness Awards during the weekend of Professional Beauty London, but for 2022 it will be a completey standalone event, just the beauty awards, held in July.

We’re really excited about this because it means we can make it a bigger event with more categories to celebrate more areas of the growing industry.

5 brand new categories for the Professional Beauty Awards 2022

Educator of the year

This award is for an inspirational and innovative educator who teaches technical and creative skills and raises standards in the beauty industry. It is open to in-house educators, freelancers and training providers, and the education can be delivered in person or online or via a mix of both. 

Mobile/Home-based Beauty Business of the Year

This category recognises the growing number of self-employed professionals working in the market and is open business that provides beauty, spa or aesthetic treatments to clients, either on a mobile therapy basis, or at a home-based salon. 

Skin Clinic of the Year

This doesn’t need to be a doctor-led clinic. This category is really to recognise the growing number of salons that provide non-medical advanced skin treatments. So, you may also provide classic beauty, nails and spa treatments but the primary focus of the business should be advanced skin treatments, which might include technology-based facials using things like IPL, radiofrequency, microneedling, mesotherapy, peels, SPMU. 

Innovation of the Year

This category is quite broad. It’s for a practising beauty services provider who has done something amazing this year. Maybe you’ve launched your own product brand, expanded into multiple sites or branched out into a completely new area of practice that has transformed your business. It’s about celebrating innovation and growth in the professional beauty sector. 

Marketing and Social Media Award

Again, this is about recognising the growing importance of social and digital skills in the sector, so we’re looking for a salon or spa that creates really innovative campaigns that stand out from the crowd and deliver results.
