Dermalogica sales director Sally Penford to leave after three decades
Professional skincare brand Dermalogica has announced that sales director Sally Penford will be leaving the business at the end of August, bringing to a close an extraordinary 30-year career with the brand.
A founding member of the Dermalogica UK & Ireland team, Penford has been instrumental in building the company’s education programmes, PR, sales strategy and culture.
Her leadership has helped shape Dermalogica’s long-term strategic direction, driving commercial growth and establishing its position as a global leader in professional skincare.
Building Dermalogica’s education and professional training legacy
During her tenure, Penford launched and led Dermalogica’s education division, creating one of the most respected professional training infrastructures in the beauty and wellness industry.
Her professional development frameworks have since been adopted internationally and have inspired thousands of professional skin therapists worldwide.
In more recent years, as sales director, Penford successfully guided her team through periods of change and market shifts.
She developed new business models, strengthened long-standing partnerships, and steered Dermalogica through growth.
Reflecting on her departure, Penford said, “My leadership is grounded in purpose, culture and people. Dermalogica has been an extraordinary part of my life and I leave proud of what we’ve built together and the impact we have had upon the respect and success of the professional skin care industry.
“I look forward to bringing my experience in leadership, strategy and culture to new opportunities and collaborations in the future.”
Founder Jane Wurwand pays tribute
Jane Wurwand, founder of Dermalogica, added: “As one of the pioneers who helped shape Dermalogica’s vision and success, Sally’s influence will remain woven into our education, culture, and values for years to come.
“While we will miss Sally deeply, we are excited to watch her next chapter unfold and know that any endeavour she pursues will benefit from her proven passion, expertise, and integrity.”

Looking ahead, Dermalogica confirmed that Hollie Mills, currently associate sales director, will step into the role.
Mills has worked closely with Penford in recent years and will continue to build on her legacy, driving growth and supporting Dermalogica’s professional skincare community across the UK & Ireland.
