Waldorf Astoria opens Berlin property

Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts has unveiled its most recent European property, the Waldorf Astoria Berlin.
The 232-room hotel occupies the 23-floor, 118 metres tall, Zoofenster skyscraper and was designed by well-known German architect Christoph Mäckler.
The hotel, whose art deco interiors were created by Parisian architect firm Inter Arts Etudes, features as range of food and beverage outlets. Celebrated French chef Pierre Gagnaire, who currently has 12 Michelin star restaurants to his name around the world, will run the hotel’s Les Solistes by Pierre Gagnaire restaurant.
Other dining outlets on the premises include a re-launched version of the historic Romanisches Café, traditionally a meeting place for Berlin’s creative community, Peackock Alley, serving afternoon tea and the elegant Lang Bar.
Facilities at the hotel also include the Guerlain Spa, comprising eight treatment rooms and stretching cross 1,000sq m. The spa’s signature treatment is entitled Beauty Revelation, combining rejuvenating and invigorating body and facial treatments.
