1. Trend spotting
With many brands chosing Professional Beauty North as a launchpad for new products, the show is a key place to spot trends for the year ahead, covering every area of the industry – skincare, nails, make-up, lashes, brows, aesthetics, tanning and waxing.
For example, visitors at the show can be among the first to discover the latest brow trend set to take over the industry – brow lamination. The treatment is for clients with naturally fuller brows and sees the hairs brushed up in the same direction and fixed into place. At the show, the teams behind The Eyelash Design Company and Hello Gorgeous will be on hand to talk therapists through its brow lamination training.
2. Education on the Live Stages
The show is returning this year with more education than ever before, making it the place to learn a new skill. Leading experts from across the beauty, spa and wellness sectors will be heading up some inspirational talks across our seven Live Stages – Trend Watch, Business Skills, Digital, How to, Warpaint, Advanced Treatments and Natural & Holistic.
We also have the new Advanced Therapist Agenda seminar programme, which is aimed at advanced therapists who are looking to continue their education in the aesthetic field. The agenda is split into four sections – skin, advanced treatments, equipment, and career and education.
3. North Nail Championships
The North Nail Championships 2019 will commence today, which sees the UK's leading nail techs battle it out to be named the best in the business.
Check out the competition on the show floor, with pros demonstrating their skills in pink and white, gel-polish, salon nail and more, and see who took has scooped the top titles at the award ceremony, taking place at 16:50pm.
4. Salon & Spa Connect
PB North is hosting its second-ever Salon & Spa Connect informal Networking Lunch after the rave reviews it recieved last year.
Salon and spa directors will discuss key challenges and share solutions in roundtable-style forums, discussing hot topics such as staff recruitment and retention, retailing and social media.
5. Meet like-minded salon owners
There will also be tons of networking opportunities for visitors. From trying out brands core treatments on stand, to the array of champagne receptions happening, there will be lots of chances to chat to like-minded professionals and meet people from leading brands.
For spa owners, there's a dedicated spa brands area where visitors can browse big-name stands such as Eve Taylor, Payot and Sothys. This relaxed zone allows plenty of space for networking and features a Champagne Bar – the perfect place to take a break and enjoy a glass of bubbly.
