Continued growth for Mövenpick with a host of new openings

Mövenpick Hotel & Resorts has announced the opening of five new resorts in a cross-section of markets this year.
The Swiss hospitality group has taken over the management of the 407-room Mövenpick Hotel Karachi in Pakistan. The property, set to undergo a comprehensive refurbishment later this year, is the first Mövenpick hotel in the country.
Mövenpick will also be adding two further hotels in Morocco to its existing property in Tangier this year. The 184-room Mövenpick Hotel Casablanca features a spa, a rooftop pool, three restaurants and six meeting rooms, among other amenities. The 16-storey hotel, currently known as the Hotel Casablanca Plaza, will se improvements to its bars and restaurants.
Currently under construction, the 374-room Mövenpick Hotel Marrakech will be the hotel group’s third property in Morocco and will open at the end of the year. The hotel will include the largest swimming pool in the city, a Buddha-Bar and a branch of the Hard Rock café.
This summer will also see the opening of the Mövenpick’s fourth property in Turkey, the Mövenpick Hotel Istanbul Golden Horn. Comprising 137 rooms, the hotel will offer guests views of the Bosphorus. The company also recently opened the Mövenpick Hotel Cairo Pyramids, a 144-room extension to the existing bungalow resort on the same site.
An announcement has been made for the construction of the Mövenpick Hotel & Residences Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia. Set to feature 250 rooms and 124 residences, the property is scheduled to open in 2018.
