Spa skincare brands Decléor and Carita have been sold to cosmetics giant L’Oreal by previous owner Shiseido for a reported €227.5million (£187m). The deal, which was initially announced in October last year, was finalised this week.
The aromatherapy brand Decléor, established in 1974, and luxury skincare and hair brand Carita, created in 1945 by sisters Maria and Rosy Carita, achieved a combined annual turnover of €100m (£84.5m) in 2012.
Other professional beauty brands in the L’Oreal portfolio include Essie, Skinceuticals and Clarisonic. L’Oreal discontinued its professional Kéraskin Esthetics skincare line last summer.
