The GHM hotel group is on track to open its first property in the Maldives in 2016. The Chedi Dhapparu will feature 90 villas and 40 suites, all offering direct access to the beach. Half of the suites and villas – the latter ranging from one to four bedrooms – will be over-water units, with the 20 Chedi Club Suites also incorporating their own private pools.

Among the hotel amenities will be a spa with ten double treatment rooms, a health club with a terrace for tai chi, a beach with dive centre and bar facilities and a club lounge. There will be at least four dining outlets at the resort, serving cuisine from nations including the Maldives, Sri Lanka and Japan.

GHM president Hans R. Jenni said: “The setting is absolutely spectacular and we couldn't have asked for a better opportunity.”Jenni added that: “The concept will be contemporary living with an Asian touch.”

The announcement of the opening of the Chedi Dhapparu closely follows the news that GHM is set to open three new hotels in Taiwan and will also be adding the Al Bait Sharjah hotel in the UAE to its property portfolio in 2015.
