Inaugural Sustainable Beauty Awards announced

The first Sustainable Beauty Awards are to be held as part of the 2013 Sustainable Cosmetics Summit in Paris on October 21. Organised by Organic Monitor, the awards will reward cosmetic and ingredient companies at the forefront of sustainable practices.
Five awards will be presented: the green formulations award, the sustainable packaging award, the sustainable ingredient award, the sustainability pioneer award and the sustainability leadership award.
Amarjit Sahota, founder and director of Organic Monitor said: "We have launched the awards to put the spotlight on cosmetic companies making a significant difference in terms of sustainability in the beauty industry, as well as to inspire other operators to take the green route."
