L'Oréal sets up scientific advisory board

L'Oréal has established a Scientific Advisory Board to bolster the relationship between beauty and science  and further scientific innovation. Composed of nine leading scientists from around the world, the board is led by Jacques Leclaire, scientific director of research and innovation at L'Oréal, and held its first meeting on May 22.

Other members of the newly formed board include Bonnie Bassler, professor of molecular biology at Princeton University, Thomas Bieber, department chairman and professor of dermatology and allergy at the University of Bonn, Nina Jablonski, distinguished professor of anthropology at Pennsylvania State University and Jun Wang, a professor in the biology department at the University of Copenhagen.

Laurent Attal, executive vice president of research and innovation at L'Oréal, said: “The establishment of a Scientific Advisory Board is essential and is a first for L'Oréal. Science is the basis of all our innovations and in a rapidly changing world, the board’s reflexions will contribute to strengthening the link between science and beauty.”
