Mövenpick to take over Casablanca hotel

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has announced that it will be taking over the 184-room and suite Husa Casablanca Plaza, rebranding it the Mövenpick Hotel Casablanca. The hotel group plans to carry out some improvement work on the property.

The hotel is the Swiss hospitality brand’s second property in Morocco, after the Mövenpick Hotel & Casino Tangier, which opened in 2001. A third hotel, Mövenpick Hotel Marrakesh, is scheduled to open in early 2015.

The Mövenpick Hotel Casablanca features a spa and wellness centre, with facilities and services including a hammam and beauty treatments, a rooftop pool and meeting and events facilities.

Alan O'Dea, senior vice president, Africa for Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, said: “Mövenpick Hotel Casablanca is a significant addition to our Moroccan portfolio.”

He added: “We are planning to carry out some improvements to certain areas of the hotel, to reflect the high standards Mövenpick is renowned for.”
