Missy Godfrey named CEO of Spafinder Wellness

Long-serving board member Missy Godfrey has been named chief executive of Spafinder Wellness. Godfrey takes over from co-fonder Peter Ellis, who had held the post since 2002. Ellis will remain chairman of the board of directors.

Commenting on the appointment, Ellis said: "As Spafinder expands its wellness offerings, Missy is the best choice to lead the company’s continued international expansion and the future growth of the brand. She has a rich history with Spafinder and an exceptionally strong background in retail, media and technology, as well as unique expertise in new product launches.”

Godfrey said: “It is an exciting time for the company, and I am honoured Pete has entrusted me to lead the next phase of its growth.”

Godfrey, who has served on the Spafinder board for the past 10 years, was previously chief executive of Social Flow, which provides social media marketing software, and has also held senior positions at publishing companies Hearst, Worth and American Express Publishing.

Her background also includes serving as managing director of investment bank North Sea Partners, being part of the founding committee for the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation and sitting on the board of charitable organisations A Better Chance and Youth Service America.
