New spa to open at Peak District hotel in March

Boutique Peak District hotel The Three Horseshoes Inn & Country Hotel on Blackshaw Moor has announced it will open a spa in March next year.

The Mill Wheel Spa will have three treatment rooms and extensive thermal facilities from spa band Haslauer, including The Beach Hut, a chamber the offers spa guests a 25-minute experience that replicates natural sunlight to boost vitamin D levels.

Other thermal facilities will include an alpine BrechelBath sauna, which is scented with herbal steam, and a Stonebath steam facility, which heats mineral stones and lowers them into cool water to create mineral-rich steam.

The spa’s namesake feature will be a Millwheel shower, which is turned by water power and will pour both warm and cold water at intervals.

The spa will use skincare products from Heaven By Deborah Mitchell and Haslauer’s brand of scrubs, Kurland.

The extension to the hotel will also include five new guest rooms for the hotel that will each have a private garden and a cedar wood hot tub. Work began on the extension back in February.

Director of the hotel Steve Kirk said, “The new building is being constructed adjacent to our present building. It will be a unique spa with lots of equipment and innovations. These are exciting times for the business and this will also bring in more leisure guests and attract more weddings. This will also help with tourism in the Staffordshire Moorlands.”
