PB meets Paul Matthes, Director of PJS Direct

Professional Beauty speaks to Paul Matthes, Director at PJS Direct, to catch up on the latest news from the company and the big plans for Professional Beauty London.

After working for over 12 years with another beauty equipment supplier, Paul decided to set up his own company, creating a customer care equipment and furniture supplier.

PB: What is your most popular product and what makes it popular?

PM: The Diamond Microdermabrasion machines have been huge in last 12 months; as the treatment popularity grows the more salons have the clients asking for it. So as all our machines are priced affordably we have gained a large amount of happy customers. Most of which have paid for the machine in the first month of having it!

PB: How cost effective are PJS Direct products when introducing them into a salon?

PM: Very cost effective, for items used for facial and body treatments, both electrical and manual, we expect the user to have their return on investment back through treatments in 30-90 days, sometimes even quicker.

PB: What support do you provide to professionals who use your products in their salons?

PM: We have a network of training colleges and academies training with our equipment, so we affiliate with them to allow a greater coverage of the UK and to keep our equipment prices down. One other service that is unique is we will product source any item of equipment, we have a pool of suppliers from all over the globe that allows us to 99.9% of the time get the customers exactly what they desire.

PB:  Are you bringing anything new on your stand at the show?

PM: We have two new treatment couches, a 4 motor beauty couch and the new PJS-Rayoung 3 motor spa and body treatment couch. I hope the visitors can come and try them out!

PB:  Will you be having any special offers exclusive to the show?

PM: All stools and salon seating will be VAT free and many other items will carry show only discounts. We will keep updating our business Facebook and Twitter with the new offers as they come out and on Professional Beauty’s website.

PB:  Any other plans for the show?

PM: We have a brand new 2013 Catalogue with the latest equipment and furniture being launched at Professional Beauty, and it is free for visitors to take and keep for the coming year. Excitingly we have a new stand design being launched at Professional Beauty Excel too.

PB:  What tips would you give salon owners looking to introduce a new line into their salon?

PM: In the current market I would advise any salon owner to have a varied treatment menu, and introducing new technology and treatments will increase their profitability and give them the leading edge against competition.

PB:  Have you got anything new on the horizon?

PM: We are just finishing the 2013 Catalogue which has many new products and new exclusive partnerships with specialist UK suppliers from hot stones and bamboo treatments to hairdressing, IPL lasers and memory foam pillows.

PJS Direct will be on stand O16 at Professional Beauty London on 24-25 February at ExCel. Click here to see what they have in store for the show.

Tickets are £30 on the day but free for those who pre-register online here.
