The GHM hotel group has announced the opening of its first Indian property in Mumbai in December 2013.
Aayu Mumbai will be located on the top five floors of the central tower in the city’s Kohinoor Square, the tallest commercial building in Mumbai.
Comprised of 42 suites, the Aayu Mumbai is the most recent hotel opening to be announced by GHM, which already operates properties in a range of locations that include Thailand, Vietnam, Oman, Myanmar and North Korea.
Spa treatments in the hotel will be given in guests’ room, rather than in a dedicated spa area. A number of culinary options will also be available on the premises.
French chef Joël Robuchon, the recipient of a record 28 Michelin stars through the various restaurants he operates worldwide, will open his eighth L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon on the premises.
Award-winning Japanese chef Hide Yamamoto will head up a second restaurant at the Aayu Mumbai, featuring a sushi and sake counter and a noodle bar serving homemade ramen noodles.
Other amenities at the hotel will include a library lounge and bar, a cigar and cognac lounge and a rooftop terrace on the 50th floor.
