Professional Spa & Wellness Convention focus

Paul Hawco, Spa Director at Talise Ottoman Spa, Jumeirah Zabeel Sarray, Dubai, Randal Eastman, Vice President and Partner at Gragonfly Therapeutic retreats and Larisa Marinica, Director of Purovel Spa & Resort, Swissôtel The Bosphorus, Istanbul tell what to expect from this year convention.

PAUL HAWCO

What can we expect from your presentation as part of the Going Green Pays session?
A fresh and honest perspective on what has become a must-do for spas. My presentation will cover Dubai and the wider Middle East, looking at where we were, where we are and the potential that lays ahead when it comes to sustainability. I will also be recognising how luxury spas can commit to sustainability without diminishing customer expectations.

RANDAL EASTMAN

Why are events such as the Professional Spa & Wellness Convention so important for the industry?
It’s a meeting place for leaders in the industry to connect and compare notes and best practice. It should also be an occasion to inspire industry leaders to tackle new issues that are relevant to our industry and to introduce new models that we have not seen before.

LARISA MARINICA

What other sessions or speakers are you most looking forward to?
I find myself more and more fascinated by psychology and the methods and tools that enable us to understand the underlying principles that guide customers’ decision-making process. Therefore, I’m really looking forward to Neil Orvay’s pre-convention workshop on influencing psychology.
