Skin By Sterex to launch UK-wide student competition

British skincare brand Skin By Sterex is launching its Student Make-up Honours competition, with the theme "Cultural Fusion". Open to Level 2 and Level 3 make-up students from across the UK, students must submit one of their designs to be judged by a panel of experienced industry professionals by April 24th.

Laurie Cartmell, managing director of Skin by Sterex, said, “We are delighted to be holding our first Student Make-up Honours competition, it is an excellent opportunity to showcase and recognise the work of talented Level 2 and Level 3 make-up students throughout the UK.”

Using the Culture Fusion theme, Level 2 students must create an editorial/catwalk style make-up for submission, whilst the Level 3 students must create a torso, face, neck and head design complete with a costume to finish the look.

The top 15 students in each level will then compete in a live final on June 10th at North Warwickshire and Hinckley College, where the Level 2 students have 1 hour 30 minutes and the Level 3 students have 4 hours to complete their design.

“Skin By Sterex is always aiming to inspire and support talent and creativity. This competition is a fantastic opportunity for the contestants to gain experience and confidence in their skills and to win a bespoke expert training and products from Mistair, our professional airbrush make-up, and Stageline, our traditional make-up range,” Cartmell added.

The winner of each category will win a mentor experience with an accomplished make-up artist working in the film and TV industry, a fund of £500 to spend on Mistair and Stageline Professional products and a Skin By Sterex bespoke training course package.
