Held February 24-25 and running alongside Professional Beauty London, this year’s convention attracted more than 340 delegates from around the world.

The full and diverse two-day convention programme covered topics as varied as how to attract and retain customers, the art of best practice financial management, how to turn wellness into a profitable revenue stream, the future of destination and resorts spas and how to run an efficient spa.

Among the many international, high-level, spa and wellness industry speakers was Andrew Gibson, group director of spa for the Mandarin Oriental hotel group, Neil Orvay, chief executive of Asia Spa & Wellness, Karina Stewart, co-founder of Kamalaya Wellness Sanctuary and Holistic Spa Resort, Sharron Barcock, director of spa operations and development, MEA Hilton Worldwide, Kathryn Moore, director of operations at Mspa International, Jérôme Phelipeau, owner and chief executive of the Compagnie de Vichy and Charlie Thompson, head of health and beauty at Virgin Active and chair of the UK’s Spa Business Association.

Many delegates and speakers also attended the World Spa & Wellness Awards, held at the London Hilton on Park Lane on Sunday February 24. The glamorous awards ceremony, at which the best day spas, hotel spas and destination spas around the world were recognised, was held in conjunction with the Professional Beauty Awards and attended by 750 people.
