Wellness focused Even Hotels signs two new properties

Even Hotels is set to open two US properties in early 2014. The new properties under the Even Hotels brand, which launched in 2012 and is part of InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), are located in Rockville, Massachusetts and Norwalk, Connecticut respectively.

The hotels, both scheduled to open in early 2014 and both conversions of existing buildings, are strategically situated in key business hubs. The Rockville hotel will feature 167 guest rooms over seven floors, while the Norwalk property will comprise 129 rooms spread over four floors.

While the announcement for the brand’s flagship property in New York’s Midtown Manhattan had already been made, in May this year, the New York property is set to open after the Rockville and Norwalk hotels, in mid-2015.

Kirk Kinsell, president, the Americas, at IHG, said: "We are excited to add these two new properties to our pipeline, and continue the development momentum for the Even Hotels brand beyond New York City, in two strong strategic markets."

In line with the four pillars on which the Even Hotels brand is founded; food, work, exercise and rest, both hotels will contain in-room fitness facilities and public workspaces, in addition to a gym – including space for fitness classes – outdoor spaces and design and technology features intended to help guests maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Adam Glickman, head of Even Hotels, said: "Even Hotels supports the growing segment of the traveling public for whom wellness, both at home and when traveling, is so important."
