World Travel Awards Australasia winners announced

The Hilton Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and the Layana Resort & Spa in Thailand were among the winners at the Australasia leg of the global World Travel Awards 2013 tour. The former took home the Asia’s Leading City Spa Hotel honour, while the latter was awarded the Asia’s Leading Spa Resort accolade at the awards ceremony in Dubai on October 1. 
 
Other winners on the night were Ananda in the Himalayas, which was named India’s Leading Spa Resort, the Banyan Tree Hangzhou, which became China’s Leading Spa Resort, The Windsor Hotel Toya Resort & Spa – winning Japan’s Leading Spa Resort and Le Méridien Khao Lak Beach & Spa Resort, named Thailand’s Leading Spa Resort. 
 
Meanwhile, the InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa in French Polynesia won the Australasia's Leading Spa Resort accolade, while Gaia Retreat & Spa was awarded the Australia's Leading Spa Resort honour and the Paihia Beach Resort & Spa Hotel became New Zealand's Leading Spa Resort. 
 
The winners in the Africa category will be announced at an awards ceremony in Nairobi on October 16, with the grand final revealing the global winners taking place in Doha on November 11.
