World Travel Awards announces Middle East winners

Jumeirah, Le Méridien, Softiel and Six Senses were among the winners at the Middle Eastern leg of the international tour of the 2013 World Travel Awards on May 5th.
The Talise Ottoman Spa at the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray in Dubai was named the Middle East’s leading spa, Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa in Dubai, where the event was also held, was named the Middle East’s leading spa resort, while the Banyan Tree Al Wadi in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, picked up the Middle East’s leading desert spa resort honour.
Regional winners at the Middle Eastern segment of the World Travel Awards, which celebrates 20 years this year, included the Jordan Valley Marriott Resort & Spa, selected as Jordan’s leading spa resort, the InterContinental Mzaar Mountain Resort & Spa, crowned Lebanon’s leading spa resort, the Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa Sea & Spa, which took home the leading spa resort gong for Bahrain, and Six Senses Zighy Bay, named both leading resort and leading spa resort for Oman.
The next stop on the World Travel Awards global tour is the Maldives, with the awards ceremony for the Indian Ocean held at the Paradise Island Resort & Spa on May 12th.
