ASk the expert,Annie Keogh, Creative Director at The Makeup Crew

Annie Keogh is Creative Director & works as a senior artist for The Makeup Crew Event's & Pro Team. She is also one of our resident trainers starting out her journey in the wonderful world of Makeup Artistry 10 years ago & beginning her career training as a beauty specialist & nutritionist, she then went on to train in Fashion, Theatre , Media and Special effects. 

Annie worked with brands like MAC, YSL, Lancôme, Bobbi Brown and MAC TR she also attended some major training events & workshops Internationally from Robertson Beverly Hills, from LA to London.  Also a trainer for CDVEC in Dublin, She regularly trains new Artists training @ The Crew . PB: What is the background of the company and what type of products do you offer?
AK: The Makeup Crew run courses in Creative Artistry that are designed & structured to give vast industry knowledge, expand your creativity as well as lots of hands on practical skill & technique work during training at The Makeup Crew. Work experience after the course is also allocated completed building up your confidence as a new artist and gaining invaluable experience.

PB: What is you’re most popular product and what do you think makes it popular?
AK: We retail our Pro Products at a discounted price to our students our favorite has to be our onset kit bags from Stillazi. These are amazingly durable Pro Makeup Bags that are super easy to clean and are much more convenient to carry on set than the larger steel cases. These large clear bags are most defiantly the way forward in artist set gear. They are the ultimate MUA accessory too!

PB: What makes your products special over the competition?
AK: Makeup training at The Makeup Crew offer’s an environment where all students learn backstage style enabling them to leave with high levels of confidence & the capabilities to work under pressure that is required when working as a makeup artists on shoots and shows. We work closely with all our trainees also on an individual basis so that we can focus on where that artist may need to build on getting there technique that bit better. We help encourage all students to tap into that wonderful part of the brain that creativity flourishes by using inspiring innovative methods of stimulating vision.           

PB: Do you provide any extra services, advice or training programmes?
AK: At The Makeup Crew we also have our pro team who provide makeup services for Weddings and creative team for events, shoots and shows.
We regularly run workshops or events for body art / special effects for amateurs/professionals alike and bootcamps for those who would just like a little taster or to learn some skills in makeup just for you. 
Our doors are always open for advice to customers and past trainees.

PB: Why should salon owners visit your stand at the show?
AK: Our pro team regularly provide up skilling and training days to existing businesses and collages.

PB: Are you having anything new on your stand at the show?
AK: Throughout the day we will be exhibiting an eye-catching show with a vast array of techniques on our stage with the very latest in Makeup fabulousness & extravagance not to be missed! With our pro team on hand to answer any questions or give advice.

PB: Any other plans for the show? 
AK: The Crew will be on the Live stage Monday 6th beginning at 11 am delivering the best in bodyart / fantasy and special effects Makeup Crew Style!

PB: Please tell us any current news or anything which is taking place at the moment outside of show activities. 
AK: The Makeup Crew also exhibit at other Major Shows in the RDS and you can catch the pro team @ The Upcoming Bride of The Year Show in September for all your bridal and wedding makeup needs.
Also the Pro Team will be the key artists @ Cradle.ie Fashion Show in Ballsbridge Hotel in September in conjunction with Dublin Institute of Design, House of Color and Designer Claire Garvey which will see 20 designers battle it out for the title of Best Couture Design!
