Beauty fans more active online
Beauty and skincare enthusiasts are more active online and more likely to make internet purchases than other groups, according to a recent report from the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB). The IAB Summer Skincare Digital Report – which is based on US data and compares the digital habits of beauty aficionados to those of the average consumer – found that 50% of skincare buyers regularly purchase items online, compared to 29% of the general population.
Nearly all, 94%, of skincare devotees habitually surf the internet, compared to 86% of the general population, and 75% are active on social media sites; with the figure for the population a considerably lower 53%. Shopping is the favourite online pastime of beauty fans, with 63% naming this as their number one internet activity. The same figure for the average consumer is 51%.
