Beauty parties and brow treatment among Babtac innovation semi-finalists
Babtac has announced the semi-finalists of its innovation grant, which gives one exciting beauty business proposition the opportunity to receive £8,000 in funding.
The final nine entries were revealed at Olympia Beauty on September 23, where the entrants each gave a five-minute video presentation of their idea. DIY Beauty presented its range of synthetic hair extensions that can be heated to 200ºC without being damaged.
Faceframe unveiled its new eyebrow treatment that uses synthetic eyebrow hairs to create a full brow, while dermatology brand Nuekie launched a treatment to target post-inflammatory hyper pigmentation in ethnic skins.
Shireen UK is seeking the funding for its Poring Method treatment, a non-invasive Botox alternative that uses naturally occurring ingredients to target lines and rejuvenate skin. Tech based business Glow App presented its iOS booking system that is designed to connect clients directly with mobile therapists.
Sanctuary Beauty launched its sleeping pods that allows users a quiet space to sleep in public areas, such as airports and city centres, while Specifics unveiled its fitness programme developed to improve posture by working with a variety of different muscle groups.
Subhail Ucradar seeks funding for its line of non-invasive treatments to help general wellness and treat chronic pain and finally, events brand Sweet Indulgences presented its proposition for vintage style tea parties with a dedicate beauty therapy element.
The final nine entries are available to watch and vote for here. The finalists will be decided by a judging panel and by public votes, and the top four or five will then compete in the live final at Professional Beauty London in February 2014 where they will deliver a live 10-minute pitch in the live Dragon’s Den-style final.
