Sweet fruits and florals among season’s scent trends
Orient-inspired scents such as jasmine, patchouli and pink pepper are set to be among the top fragrance trends for the coming season, according to the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) in the UK.
The latest information from the association also suggests that clients will be looking for products with classic floral scents – including sweet rose petals, violets and hyacinth – and kitsch fruity fragrances – such as tangerine, strawberry and pink grapefruit notes.
Other scents that IFRA UK identified include black orchid, natural woody tones and marine-inspired fragrances.
Jonathan Gray, IFRA UK’s acting chairman, added, “Look out for scents that reflect cool, clean materials – linen and cotton and aquatic inspired fragrances are also going to be popular.”
Trends for men include an homage to the 1920s style, with classic fragrances such as woody fougeres.
