Bloww salon in London closes

Bloww Hair and Urban Spa in London's West End closed down yesterday. The salon, which teamed up with South African spa brand Africology last September, shut its doors on April 10 and said it was due to "unforeseen circumstances". Bloww was launched in 2005 by then reality TV stars Paul Merritt and Adee Phelan, who were hairdressers on Channel 4 reality series The Salon. However, Merritt left Bloww in 2008 and Phelan left soon after. The Africology brand, which offers holistic treatments and ethical spa products inspired by African traditions, launched its first UK spa beneath the Bloww hair salon in September 2011, with plans to expand the brand into other high-end luxury salons. A spokesperson for Africology, said: 'We are now looking for new premises in London and hope to open a standalone Africology spa soon.'
