Gold Salon Award launches nationwide
The Gold Salon Award, a new standards-setting initiative for the beauty salon market, is now open to salons nationwide. The scheme, which certifies salons that meet its standards of practice and customer service, was piloted last year in the North West of England, supported by Nail Systems International (NSI) training consultants. With the aim of raising standards within the nail and beauty industry, the team behind The Gold Salon Award is now aiming to gain more recognition for the award to make it a clear indicator of quality that will be recognised nationally, offering assurance to clients. To be accepted for the certification, salons must be able to demonstrate that staff are qualified with the right nail and beauty skills and that the salon offers first-class treatments, customer care and the latest health and safety legislation. The owner must also demonstrate the ability to manage people. The award is accredited by The Institute of Leadership and Management and endorsed by NSI UK and Crystal Nails. Denise Wright, owner of nail salon Perfect 10 in Kent, was one of the first salons to receive a Gold Award. She received a Five Star award in recognition of her commitment to the nail industry and level of service offered in her salon.
