Bristol and Manchester named the UK's self-care capitals
Bristol has been named the UK’s self-care capital, after placing top across four self-care categories.
The data, analysed by MyVitamins, compiled a list of more than 50 different terms relating to self-care, split out across four different categories, and looked at Google search data from 30 of the UK and Ireland’s top cities across the past 12 months.
The cities were then ranked across the four self-care categories: food and drink, mental health, pampering and relaxation, and physical health, and given a score between one and 30 for each category, before being given an overall self-care score out of 120.
Bristol came out of top, hitting full marks by scoring the maximum points across each of the categories; while Manchester followed in second, with an overall score of 113. The north-western city scored 29 points across physical health and pampering and relaxation, with 28 points for food and drink, and 27 for mental health, the report found.
Dublin placed third overall thanks to its high scored in the other categories – 28 for pampering and relaxing, 27 for physical health, and 24 for food and drink.
