Cancer touch therapy launches at Edinburgh’s One Spa
One Spa at the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa in Edinburgh has announced that it will be partnering with skincare brand Made for Life Organics on cancer touch therapy.
The 3,159sq m spa, which occupies four levels in a building located adjacent to the Sheraton Grand, is introducing the Hand on Heart treatment by Made for Life as of October 1st.
A treatment for head, face, back and shoulders, the 80-minute Hand on Heart involves the Chinese massage technique Tui Nai and is designed to calm and relax the body and nurture and revive the complexion on the face
Jo Syme, spa manager at One Spa, said: “We are so pleased to be able to offer a safe and accessible treatment for those who have been diagnosed with cancer. “The therapy offers a welcome addition to our offering at One Spa.”
Made for Life Organics, a UK Soil Association certified organic British skincare brand, was set up in 1999 and includes the Made for Life Foundation.
A registered charity, the Made for Life Foundation supports those coping with and recovering from cancer.
Amanda Barlow, managing director of Made for Life Organics and founder of the Made for Life Foundation, said:
"I believe that all spas should open their doors and embrace the opportunity to provide support to people going through cancer.
“We are all absolutely delighted that One Spa became the first Spa in Edinburgh to be trained to do just this.” Made for Life products are manufactured in Cornwall, made by hand and using locally sourced ingredients.
Facilities at One Spa range from an indoor infinity pool and an outdoor hydrotherapy pool, to a thermal suite with several saunas, a hammam, an aroma grotto and a laconium and tepidarium.
There is also a fitness centre with studio space and a salon offering beauty treatments.
