Charity mani-thon planned to raise funds for breast cancer cause

Beauty box retailer Birchbox has announced plans for a charity event next month in aid of breast cancer charity CoppaFeel. The Manithon will take place on August 29 and will involve 20 manicure stations at London’s Soho Square offering express manis using consumer brand Models Own polish over 10 hours.

There will be a £5 minimum donation per manicure, and all proceeds from the event will go to Coppafeel, which was founded to help educate young people about the importance of checking for lumps. The charity was launched in 2009 by Kristin Hallenga, herself a breast cancer sufferer who was diagnosed at just 23.

Radio 1Xtra DJ Sarah-Jane Crawford is the celebrity ambassador for the event.
