Disability-friendly make-up and products formulated for older skin take the industry by storm
Make-up brands Look Fabulous Forever (LFF) and Grace Beauty are making beauty accessible to everyone with innovative products for mature clients and those with mobility issues.
LFF is a collection of “pro-age” make-up and skincare products developed specifically for mature women, created by founder Tricia Cusden after she became “disillusioned with cosmetic brands who only wanted to sell her anti-ageing items”.
The cruelty-free range (pictured top right) includes primers for the face, eyes and lips, moisturising foundations in five shades, a range of matte eyeshadows, a cream-to-powder blusher and 12 lip shades. Each product has been formulated to work well on older skin which may be drier or hold more challenges for make-up application than younger skin.
LFF also has a hyaluronic acid-rich serum, multivitamin-packed day cream and provitamin B5-infused night cream, all which help to enhance skin barrier repair.
The brand is looking for beauty salons and MUAs to become LFF ambassadors. Email Caroline Geraerts on [email protected] for more information.
Disability-friendly make-up
Meanwhile, disability-friendly make-up brand Grace Beauty has developed a range of mascaras with different handles for those with mobility issues.
Launching later this year, the Ring Grip is a handle with a ring attached to it, “giving a more secure hold, which makes it nearly impossible to drop,” says the brand. “The ring grip was created as a general aid for anyone. When attached you don’t have to hold as hard or worry about losing your grip.”
The Square Grip handle has a hexagonal shape to allow for easier opening, hold and control, “simple, minimal and with a rubbery feeling that will ensure a better grip," adds the brand.
Lastly, the larger bulbous shape of the Safe Grip (pictured top left) gives a wide-angled grip and ensures better control for all kinds of users. “The material is rubbery, flexible but hard, which will ensure an even grip even though the fingers can’t wrap fully around the grip,” says the brand.
In other news, beauty brand HD Brows has joined the industry’s body-positivity movement with new untouched campaign imagery, while day spa chain Spa Experience by Better has launched a new campaign promoting its facilities using real clients.
