Discounting and recruitment among US spas' top concerns

The culture of deep discounting, retention of skilled staff and the state of the economy are top concerns for US spas, according to new research. The 2013 U.S. Spa Industry Study, published by the International Spa Association (ISPA) in partnership with advisory services provider PricewaterhouseCoopers, found that 27% of spas in the US are concerned that the uncertain economic forecast will lead to a reduction in spa visits and client spend.
