Galgorm Resort & Spa to unveil £2 million expansion
Northern Ireland’s Galgorm Resort & Spa is underway on a £2 million expansion.
The resort is set for a new two acre spa garden and a fitness suite over two floors, both due to open in July. A spa restaurant is also being added.
Funded solely by Galgorm, the £2m investment will create a landscaped spa garden at the back of the existing Thermal Spa Village, with Tuscan olive trees, waterways and a bespoke water feature.
Yoga and pilates classes will be held in the new fitness suite, in a studio situated adjacent to the garden.
Spa restaurant Elements will seat 60 guests across two floors and serve health-conscious food. It is designed to be the centrepiece of the resort and will open onto a large decking area.
The resort is also extending its onsite Italian restaurant from 100 to 180 seats.
Colin Johnston, general manager at Galgorm Resort & Spa, said: “We are delighted to be working on the next exciting phase of the development at Galgorm. Our investment is entirely privately funded and clearly displays our faith in the future growth and prosperity of Ballymena.
"We believe that through this development we can continue to raise international awareness of the Ballymena Borough and Northern Ireland and illustrates that Northern Ireland can compete on the global stage”.
