Global Spa & Wellness Summit to evolve into the Global Wellness Institute

The Global Spa & Wellness Summit (GSWS) is to expand into a wider umbrella organisation, known as the Global Wellness Institute (GWI), whose objective will be to unify the industry and lead it forward.

The GWI will continue to organise the annual summit for spa and wellness leaders from around the world, but will also host a series of local and regional events, collaborate with other organisations within and outside of the industry on educating the general public about and maximising the business potential of spa and wellness, and increase its focus on research and the sourcing of business data.

Mia Kyricos, a member of the GSWS advisory board and chief brand officer of Spafinder Wellness in the US, described the organisation – which was announced at the GSWS in India in October – as “a global think-tank with the aim of being recognised as the world’s authority for the spa and wellness industries.”

Kyricos went on to say that it had become increasingly clear that the growing and wide-ranging aims and objectives of the GSWS could not longer be contained within a single annual event, commenting that: “The GSWS has evolved into a multifaceted organisation that is now in need of a greater and more expansive identity.”
