Headland Spa set for July launch
A major new hotel spa is gearing up to open its doors next month at Fistral Beach on the coast of Cornwall, UK.
The Headland Spa at The Headland Hotel, Newquay, will feature a pool with jet stream and bubble seats, a rasul, a Cornish salt steam room, a Swedish sauna and aromatherapy showers. There will also be a gym and a dedicated manicure and pedicure area in addition to the treatment rooms, a relaxation room and an ocean-facing spa dining lounge.
On opening in July, the spa will offer exclusive treatments from organic seaweed brand Voya, essential oils specialist Aromatherapy Associates and US skincare line Kerstin Florian. The spa will also use local brand Spiezia, an organic range made at The Health & Wellbeing Innovation Centre in Cornwall.
The second phase of opening is due to be completed in autumn 2013 and will see the addition of a couples’ VIP suite featuring a large hydrotherapy bath.
The Headland Spa’s signature treatment “The Dreaming” is inspired by Cornwall’s coastline. Using Spiezia products, it features a scrub and massage complemented by music made with natural sounds from the Cornish coast.
Martina Crkonova has been appointed as spa manager. She has previously worked in spa manager and director positions at spas including Whittlebury Hall, Northamptonshire; Whatley Manor, Malmesbury; and, most recently, The Bath Priory, Bath.
