Heavy eyes and smudged lips among makeup trends at London Fashion Week
Heavy eyeliner stands out among the top beauty trends at London Fashion Week. Designers including PPQ, Jean-Pierre Braganza and Topshop Unique all showcased thick black lining on both the upper and lower lids, to create a grungy look. Jean-Pierre Braganza’s double feline flick made for a hard edge, while the heavy lashes and smudged khols at PPQ left the models with an up-all-night rocker look to complement the versatility of fabrics on the catwalk.
Injecting a shot of colour into the heavy eye looks elsewhere, the MUAs at Todd Lynn went for a thick coat of bright turquoise right up to the brow line. The bold colour was in stark contrast to the black well tailored collection of work-ready outfits on display.
Another key look was the bold lip on a flawless base, as seen at the likes of Busardi, Vivienne Westwood and new label Grace at LFW. MUA Lisa Eldridge chose a matte red lip against pure, dewy skin on the Grace models, while there were smudged red lips and English rose cheeks at Vivienne Westwood’s Red Label show. The models at Bursardi (pictured) were given a rich, dark purple lip by the MUAs from AOFM Pro, designed to stand out against pale skin.
