ISPA Visionary Award to honour Aromatherapy Associates’ Geraldine Howard
The International Spa Association (ISPA) will present the 2016 Visionary Award in memory of Aromatherapy Associates founder Geraldine Howard, who passed away January 7 following a long battle with cancer.
The award, which will be given out at ISPA’s Conference and Expo in Las Vegas in September, recognises those in the spa industry who have made significant contributions to both the definition and positive movement of health and wellness throughout their career.
Howard founded British skincare brand Aromatherapy Associates in 1985 with Sue Beechey and grew the company to become an international success in the salon and spa community. The home-grown brand is widely credited as making aromatherapy accessible to consumers.
ISPA is also making a donation to the Stand Up to Cancer organisation to support collaborative cancer research programmes.
