Iver Academy offers substantial bursary to one student

The Iver Make-up Academy at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire will offer one hair and make-up student a bursary worth 40% off the fee for its 14-week Foundation Certificate in Make-up and Hair Artistry course, starting in April next year.

Liz Tagg, founder of the academy, said the school “wants to ensure that the most talented people are able to train regardless of their personal financial background.” To be eligible to apply for the bursary students must have three years’ proven experience in either art, design, beauty and hairdressing as well as images of their work that show an interest in make-up, hair or prosthetics.

The Iver Academy and its tutors specialise in advanced prosthetics and have worked on films including Into the Woods, Maleficent and Les Miserables. Courses give students the equivalent of a degree, with opportunities for varied, on-set experience throughout.
