Leading artists and educators give a not-to-be-missed insight into the world of make-up
Some celebrities in their own right, the line-up for the Warpaint Conference at Professional Beauty (London ExCeL 24-25 February 2013) will give a unique ‘behind the scenes’ insight into make-up artistry. Whether it’s the glitter of Strictly, the excitement of film and TV or the madness of the runways, the Warpaint Conference brings together some of the best known names in the industry to show you what they do up close.
Day 1 bring you the celebrities darling Gary Cockerill, demoing just how he gets those amazing lashes to look so perfect. This Morning comes to Professional Beauty in the form of Armand Beasley, armed with all the tricks of working make-up for TV. The reigning Professional Beauty make-up specialist of the Year, Abbi Rose Crook talks about making the make-up work for the face in front of you. Hot footing it from LFW comes the team from AOFM Pro (Jan Ririnui and Michelle Webb), ready to take you through a catwalk journey of discovery, Whilst TV MUA stalwart Alyn Waterman brings his years of experience to the show, specifically the new age of HD.
Day 2 kicks off with the renowned Lisa Valencia, if you want to know what the 2013 make-up trend will be, then Lisa’s seminar is a must see. Eryca Freemantle discusses how the big brands are rising to the challenge of make-up for women of colour and Lisa Armstrong, the woman behind the amazing glitter and sparkle of Strictly Come Dancing shows us just how it’s done. Tamara Ramsey-Crockett is a young MUA who has already achieved so much, incredibly talented and able to take the traditional and turn it on its head, this is an ideal seminar for those looking to breakthrough in 2013.
The conference is hosted by Michael DeVellis, founder of The Powder Group and On Makeup Magazine in the US. Michael will close the conference with his seminar looking at how MUAs can market themselves and their work effectively in an ever crowded marketplace.
