Macdonald Hotels and Decléor launch spa management training programme

Macdonald Hotels & Resorts Spa Collection has partnered with skincare brand Decléor to introduce a Spa Leadership Training Scheme for senior spa therapists and managers.

The annual event, which take place this month was designed to motivate spa staff by offering them a chance to develop management skills, perfect practical techniques and quickly progress their careers.

Each year, 25 members of the team at Macdonald Hotels’ 24 Spa Collection properties nationwide will come together to learn from the Decléor team about customer service, managing supplies, coordinating therapists’ schedules, handling takings and cashing up, analysing sales figures and forecasting, meeting quality standards and working with suppliers on promotions, events and merchandising.

Jeanette Jones, managing director of golf, leisure and spa at Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, said: “By teaching our senior members of staff important industry skills we believe they will be better placed to lead their teams to operate at the outstanding level expected to secure our place on the industry map. Furthermore we want to develop strong working relationships and increase the longevity of our workforce as our valued team members grow with us.”

Decléor national account manager Laura Kelly added: “Following our longstanding partnership with Macdonald Hotels Spa Collection it’s a pleasure to be able to use our expertise and provide the necessary skill set that will help support the growth of the company’s outstanding spa division.”
