Mandara Spa acquires new spa in Langkawi, Malaysia

Mandara Spa has announced an expansion of its global portfolio with an agreement to manage the spa at the Tanjung Rhu Resort, Langkawi in Malaysia.

The spa at the 139-room resort features 15 treatment rooms, including four doubles. It will be converted into a Mandara Spa by the third quarter of this year.

Other facilities at the spa include a steam room, outdoor whirlpool, manicure/pedicure area and retail space. The treatment menu will comprise Asian elements inspired by the spa’s location and the roots of the Mandara Spa brand.

It will also feature face and body treatments by British skincare brand Elemis. Like Mandara, Elemis is part of the Steiner Leisure group of international spa companies.

Trent Munday, senior vice president, international, Mandara Spa, said, “We are excited to expand our operations in Malaysia with this collaboration with Tanjung Rhu Resort through our Mandara Spa brand, under which we anticipate bringing our exceptional spa services to our guests.”

Treatments on the spa menu at Tanjung Rhu Resort will include Mandara Spa signature treatments such as the Pure Nature Facial, Mandara Massage and Ultimate Indulgence.

The Pure Nature Facial is designed to exfoliate and cleanse the skin and comes in three versions: Preserve for normal skin, Renew for environmentally damaged skin, and Enrich for dry or mature skin.

The Mandara Massage sees two therapists work together in a treatment that blends hiatsu, Thai, Hawaiian lomi lomi, Swedish and Balinese massage techniques.

During the 140-minute Ultimate Indulgence treatment, guests experience an aromatherapy floral footbath, lavender body wash, body scrub, herbal steam or aromatherapy floral bath, a Mandara massage, a foot massage, and an Elemis taster facial.
