New spa that blends beauty and aesthetics opening in Tutbury post-Covid-19 lockdown
A new four-floor super-spa is preparing to open in Tutbury, Staffordshire, once coronavirus lockdown restrictions are lifted, promising to be a one-stop shop for all things beauty, aesthetic and wellness.
The MediSpa, which was originally meant to have opened in April but was delayed due to the Covid-19 outbreak, will be a beauty salon, spa and cosmetic clinic hybrid, set within a Georgian building on the high street.
It will offer traditional beauty and wellness treatments, as well as more advanced invasive procedures such as injectables, which will be performed by nurse Harriet Paul, and laser hair and thread vein removal with tech Sarah Glennan. The premises has also obtained an alcohol license for visitors who want to treat themselves to something from the “MediBar”.
MediSpa is the brain child of two local business women and friends – Hayley Borthwick, owner of HiBrow Cosmetic clinic, and Heather Allen, owner of beauty salon The Treatment Rooms – which together have enjoyed a cumulative 16 years in business.
Allen explains why they decided to join their businesses into one beauty force: “The MediSpa concept came from having a luxury space that offers the whole package of beauty, spa and aesthetics. Our focus has always been to create that spa experience in a local salon and we wanted to extend that further.
“Hayley and I recognised that for many clients, time in the salon is about so much more than the physical benefits of beauty or aesthetic treatments. Salon visits offer people a chance to indulge in some time-out or a relaxing setting to meet friends.”
Borthwick added: “We’re so thrilled with our new home. The beautiful building allows us to dedicate each floor to different aspects of our offering. Customers can now enjoy essential beauty treatments, a relaxing spa environment and private aesthetics space all under one roof.
“The icing on the cake is the beautiful garden, which we have also given a complete makeover. It’s the perfect private oasis for customers to enjoy some time together or to unwind.”
The opening could come at the right time too – with new research revealing that 80% of clients can’t wait to return to spa post-coronavirus lockdown.
