New director of spa and wellness at Amanpuri
The Aman hotels group has appointed Alison Stone director of spa and wellness for its Amanpuri property in Thailand.
Stone, who brings more than 20 years’ experience to the role, will oversee all aspects of the Amanpuri spa and a wellness offering, and will also provide support to Aman’s global director of spa and wellness, Nichola Roche.
A wellness consultant, holistic and ayurveda practitioner and detox specialist, Stone was previously business development manager for The Private Clinic on London’s Harley Street.
Past roles also include wellness director for the award-winning wellbeing destination Kamalaya Koh Samui in Thailand, managing a team of more than 60 staff – including traditional Chinese medicine doctors, nutritionists, naturopaths, ayurvedic doctors, life coaches and spa therapists.
Stone was previously also retreat manager at Kempinski’s Zanzibar property, where her remit entailed developing the health and nutrition programmes.
Stone’s extensive career also comprises positions as director of integrative health for Six Senses in Thailand and ayurvedic development manager for renowned destination Chiva-Som, also in Thailand.
As a holistic practitioner, Stone has a particularly strong interest in the Individual Wellness Immersion programmes, which launched as part of Aman Wellness in 2016.
The three to 14-day programmes are designed to “promote profound changes”, covering areas such as fitness, weight loss and deep cleansing.
Stone said: “My greatest realisation after over 20 years in the health and wellness industry is that the ultimate goal of each and every one of us is to have control over the quality of our life. “True wellness is taking back the control that our external life has hijacked and getting back into the driving seat of life again.
